First Edition, first printing, published Winter 1945-46, as stated. 8vo. pp. [6], then 78 photographic plates. Publisher's lemon yellow cloth with blue lettering designed by Beaton to front and spine. With the original unclipped dust-jacket, slightly chipped at head of the spine with some light toning, tiny nick at top edge of back panel. Without inscriptions or any other markings, indeed the interior is extremely bright and fresh with no offsetting to endpapers and no foxing. A collection of Beaton's evocative photographs, roughly one hundred, taken on a tour of China and India undertaken at the end of World War II for the Ministry of Information. Uniform with Beaton's 'Indian Album'.
