First UK Edition thus, second overall edition updating the 1938 American publication 'Cecil Beaton's New York'. Original grey cloth with spine titled in orange lettering. 9vo. pp. viii + [136] with 64 unnumbered photographic plates including the frontispiece of Times Square. With the unclipped dust-jacket by Beaton overprinted with his stylised title lettering, spine slightly toned, unclipped, rubbed at ends of spine and short tear to top edge of the front panel. Without old inscriptions or other interior markings, light offsetting to endpapers from the jacket flaps. A VG+ copy. A collection of impressions of New York City, originally published in America in 1938, here revised and updated with new post-war photos including his famous shot of sunlight streaming through the the huge arch windows of Grand Central Station.
