First Edition. Original light blue cloth boards lettered in gold on the spine, with the unclipped dust-jacket by John Woodcock, very slightly chipped at ends of spine and corner tips. A near-fine copy of the author's experiences of taking the drug peyote which gave him "a sacramental vision of reality". One of the key works of drug literature, the title of which was adopted by the LA rock band The Doors.
