COBB, Belton (1892-1971) SKU: 21295 Barcode:
London: Longmans, Green & Co., 1947.
First Edition. Original dark brown cloth with gilt lettering to the spine, with the slightly chipped dust-jacket, not price-clipped, depicting a rather sinister glass of clear liquid with drops falling into it. Jacket chipped at head of the backstrip and one or two other places. Without old inscriptions, etc. A VG+ copy. The fourteenth mystery by Belton Cobb and rather than featuring Inspector Burmann, this features one of his other series sleuths, namely Superintendent Manning. Except it doesn't really, as it is Manning's sergeant who does all the sleuthing and deducing.
