First Pogany illustrated edition, colour-printed throughout, with design, illustration, and lettering by Willy Pogany, including 20 tipped-in coloured plates set within highly ornate borders. Plates really bright and free of any foxing, as is rest of text, this is an especially bright copy. Royal 4to (12.75 x 9.5 ins); unpaginated by collated as complete. Publisher's bottle green cloth with Pogany design printed in gilt, ochre, lilac and turquoise to front board, gilt lettering and elaborate designs to spine; tips of corners and extremities bumped in places and some staining to boards though not heavy of too unsightly. Illustrated endpapers, others untrimmed. Top edge gilt. A very nice copy of this superb edition of Coleridge's classic sea encomium.
