Okito is the stage name of Theodore Bamberg, of the famous Bamberg dynasty, whose father was Court Magician to William III of Holland. The book is divided into two parts; the first contains Okito's advice of the theory and practice of magic, memories of great magicians of the past, and anecdotes from his magical career. Part two discusses various tricks including classics like 'an egg and a canary', 'the inexhaustible bowl', 'a penetrative coin', and 'The Okito coin box'.
