Publisher's original cloth boards, spines slightly sunned, slight rubbing to spine ends and corner tips. Bookplate of Edward Wilder Playfair. A very nice set of this important work on the geography, art, architecture and social life of Dalmatia. Jackson was a distinguished British architect best known for his work in Oxford on the Military College at Cowley and at Hertford College, where he designed the Bridge of Sighs over New College Lane. He was a prolific author of works on architectural history, often illustrated with sketches made during his travels, especially to Dalmatia.
