Ten vols. 8vo (8.5 x 5.5 ins) Bound in full contemp. calf with raised bands to spines making six compartments each with gilt floral ornaments and cornerpieces. Engraved frontispiece in vol I (with tissue guard) by William Hogarth is toned with residual offsetting to the titlepage. Spine of vol VII slightly faded; boards one or or two vols just starting, but all securely intact. Sides generally a touch rubbed as ends of spines. Page edges and pastedowns marbled. Occasional spots of foxing to endpapers, really moderate throughout. With the bookplate of Henry James Blaksley laid down on pastedown of vol I. and newspaper cutting relating to Fielding's grave in the English cemetery at Lisbon. A VG set.
