With an illustration of Pope (published 1797 by Cadell & Davies) at the front of volume I. and an engraved frontispiece of a bust of Pope by Louis-Francois Rubiliac (1702-62) engraved by J. Thomson from a drawing by R. Lane. Another frontispiece in vol. II. (Pope in profile, engraved by W.H. Worthington from a painting by J. Richardson. Bound in full green calf with burgundy morocco double labels to spines, which are divided into six compartments by raised bands, gilt rules to and roundels to spines, edges of which are slightly rubbed. All pages edges gilt. Apart from a few scuffs and stains to boards, this is a Fine library set, with the bookplate of Henry James Blaksley.
