Large Paper Edition, with the Sullivan illustrations. issued in December 1896 in an edition of 250. Imperial 8vo (10.24 x 7.5 ins) pp xxvii + 365, with text set within wide margins; 50 illustrations by Edmund Sullivan. Handsomely bound, and signed, by Sangorski & Sutcliffe, in brown half morocco over dark green cloth, gilt panelled spine with five raised bands each with five gilt spots, gilt dated printed at foot; top edge gilt, others untrimmed; marbled endpapers. Frontispiece (with tissue guard) and titlepage foxed. EJ Sullivan is best known for his graphic design work on the 'Daily Graphic' and 'Pall Mall' newspapers before moving on to illustrate such works as The Compleat Angler (1896), Gilbert White's 'Natural History and Antiquities of Selborne' (1900–01) and 'The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam' (1913).
