First Edition thus, undated but circa 1910, with decorated endpapers and plain, olive green, cloth spine. Original pictorial, paper-covered boards, by Lucie Attwell, slightly rubbed and bumped at edges, points of corners well rubbed and rounded. With 12 coloured plates by Attewell, all bright and unmarked, together with numerous in-text line drawn illusts. Edges of the pages spotted. Former ownership name of Isabel Veronica Clark completed in the relevant section of the front pastedown. A delightful early edition with illustrations by Mabel Lucie Attwell.
