The original tunes harmonised by Alfred Moffat. Illustrated by H. Willebeek Le Mair. Undated but 1912. Landscape format (9 x 11.5 ins); unpaginated; 32 coloured illustrations. Original bronze-coloured cloth boards with oval pictorial vignette laid down to upper, gilt lettering. Boards slightly stained, corner tips bumped. Foxing to endpapers and a small section torn away from front gutter. Selection of old nursery rhymes accompanied by an illustration and muscial score, including London Bridge, Little Polly Flinders, Goosey Gander, Simple Simon, etc. An about VG copy. Le Mair studied at the Rotterdam Academy of Art from 1909 to 1911. She first published illustrations in 1904, and a year later collaborated with her mother on a series of three books. Her images also appeared on postcards and children's china.
