Based on the screenplay by Arthur C. Clarke and Stanley Kubrick. First Edition, first printing. Original black cloth, silver lettering to the spine, with the fine unclipped dust-jacket design by Michael Brett. Without inscriptions. A fine copy. The novel, which spans a period three million years, was developed at the same time as Stanley Kubrick's film version but published after the release of the film. Clarke and Kubrick worked on the book together, but Clarke ended up with credit as sole author.
