Finely-bound in polished crimson morocco with elaborate coronet and wreath decoration to front and back, gilt spine with decoration and title lettering. All edges coated in gold leaf. Pale blue, watered silk endpapers, 8vo. pp v + 258. Tiny surface chip at the cap of the spine with some minimal loss to the gilt tooling. With the crowned monogram of the Duc de Nemours, better known as Louis d'Orleans (second son of Louis-Phillippe), the last king to reign in France. A stunning example of a French Royal binding of exceptional quality.
