Publisher's yellow cloth with green titles to spine, with the spectacularly illustrated dust-jacket by English draughtsman-artist John Minton, with the first state price of 21s printed at bottom of the front flap. With over 50 illustrations by Minton including many full-page examples and eight in colour. Jacket torn at ends of spine with some loss and a few other short, closed tears, points of corners sl worn. Light spots of foxing to endpapers and edge of text block. Without old inscriptions. A near fine copy in the VG+ jacket.
