Large 8vo (220 mm); Vol I : vi - [viii], 461 pp., portrait frontispiece (Shah of Persia) plus 49 photographic plates and a folding map at the back; Vol II. vii - viii, 446 pp., portrait frontispiece plus 74 photographic plates and a folding map at the rear. Edges of spines slightly rubbed, also tips of corners, light shelfwear to head and tail of spines. Ex.libris Joy Simpson with his name inscribed in each vol, dated 1918. An about Fine set. Landor was an English painter, aesthete, explorer and anthropologist, who carried out this journey from Holland to Calcutta accompanied by his two Persian cats, Kermn and Zeris.
