Number 54 of an edition of 200 copies. Small quarto (10 x 8 ins). Original cloth boards with Chinese characters printed in red to upper, with the dust-jacket, slightly browned. Illustrations from drawings by the author and reproductions of Chinese documents, printed in red and black. Red and yellow endpapers back and front. Supplied with the original cardboard packing box addressed to a Gerald Harris on a Royal College of Art label with corresponding number "54" written on the front. A near fine copy. With the printed descriptive note loosely inserted at the front, "The author of this book was invited in the autumn of 1954 to be a member of a cultural delegation charged with the task of conveying a message of goodwill, signed by over 600 of this country's distinguished teachers, scientists, artists, musicians and men of letters, to their professional colleagues in China.
