First Edition thus. Signed by Ms Bagnold in the centre of the first free endpaper. Octavo. 328 pages. Publisher's black cloth with the unclipped pictorial dust-jacket designed by Cecil Beaton. Jacket a touch toned at spine and with a few mild spots of foxing to flaps. Endpapers and edges of text block also slightly foxed with the top edge of the block coloured yellow. A very attractive copy, in the excellent Beaton jacket which has remained brightly coloured and untorn. With Errata slip laid down on publication page.
