Edited by Allen De Loach in New York (issues 1-5) and then Buffalo (issues 6-41), Intrepid (1964-1980) published a large number of poets directly and indirectly associated with the New American Poetry, and especially Beat writers and influential figures like Allen Ginsberg, Gregory Corso, Philip Whalen, William Burroughs, Diane di Prima, Charles Bukowski, Ted Berrigan, Gary Snyder, Ted Enslin, and Charles Olson.
