The only novel published by the playwright Joe Orton (posthumously), this fantasy tale follows the fortunes of the hero-pilgrim, Gombold, who strays onto the head of a creature some hundred miles high. A very weird novel indeed. First Edition. Original fuchsia cloth with imprint of Orton's face to front board, spine lettered in white. With the excellent and unclipped dust-jaket by Patrick Procktor who also supplied the vignettes drawings in the text. No old inscriptions or names, contents extremely fresh and clean, jacket just a touch dust-soiled in places, very minimal. A near fine copy.
