First published 1890, then banned in France for reasons of obscenity. Slim booklet printed on art paper, edges untrimmed. pp 44. [3]; with an etched portrait frontispiece of Verlaine, with tissue-guard. Text printed in red and black. Original buff paper wrappers plus the thicker dark blue outer wrapper with a black design on the front, fold in flaps front and back, chipped at head of the spine. Two old owner's name written ink hand on front wrapper one dated 1920. An excellent copy, numbered 149 in the colophon. "Cet ouvrage, écrit à l'hôpital Broussias 1890 sous le titre D'Aucunes, a été tiré à Brussel 1890 à 175 exemplaires, puis confisqué et détruit. Reimprimé et augmenté de quatre poésies (XIII-XVI), il parut sous le titre Femmes, imprimé sous le manteau. Cette édition fut imprimé 1'an V de la Guerre".
