BECKETT, Samuel SKU: 21159 Barcode:
London: Faber and Faber, 1957.
First UK Edition, first printing, following the original French edition of 1952 and an America issue in 1954. With the excellent and unclipped dust-jacket. Original corn-yellow cloth with red lettering to the backstrip. Without inscriptions etc. Publisher's note tipped in near foot of 'Note' page. Strip of offsetting to front free endpaper. A near fine copy of Beckett's tragicomedy play, first published in 1952 by Les Éditions de Minuit, which revolves around the mannerisms of the two main characters, Vladimir (Didi) and Estragon (Gogo), who engage in a range of thoughts, dialogues and encounters while awaiting the titular Godot, who of course never arrives.
