Holland spent a year and a half travelling through Portugal, Gibraltar, Sardinia, Sicily, the Ionian Isles, Albania and Greece. This book provides an account of the eastern part of tour. In 1814 he again visited Europe, this time as medical attendant to the princess of Wales (later Queen Caroline). He was subsequently asked to testify at the inquiry of 1820 which sought the necessary evidence to divorce her from George IV(ODNB)
