Later edition, handsomely bound in full crimson calf with shell-patterned gilt spine, dark green label with gilt title lettering, and double fillets around the boards, ornate gilt turn-ins; marbled endpapers and page edges. Binding signed at foot of first endpaper, but hard to decipher. Light rubbing to bottom of the spine and points of corners. Armorial bookplate of Brigadier R.M.G. Horn laid down on front pastedown. An extremely handsome copy. Collection of German romance poetry, with parallel text in German and English, including works by Goethe, Schiller, Bürger, etc.
