First Edition. 8vo (8.25 x 6 ins) pp [6], 340, [12]; eight photographic plates of notable boxers of the the Victorian era (Tom Sayers, Jem Belcher, Tom Cribb, Tom Spring, Jem Ward, Owen Swift, Bendigo, Nat Langham) Original green pictorial cloth depicting a bare knuckle contest of the front, spine and front lettered in white and black. Leaves are browned and in some case rather brittle, while binding is bright and square with light rubbing to ends of spine and corner tips, and a small stain to lower board. Foxing and oxidization to enpapers. A VG+ copy of an uncommon boxing title.
