Halifax kept a manuscript notebook filled with ghost stories, often passed on to him by friends and relatives. These were collected and published by his son Edward. As an Anglo-Catholic ecumenist, Charles Lindley Halifax was heavily influenced by The Oxford Movement and devoted his life to support the reunion of Anglicans and Roman Catholics.
